If there are any two people who know how to party, it's Don Draper and Leslie Knope.
Jon Hamm and Amy Poehler may annually be deprived of little gold men to accompany them home after the Emmys, but this past Sunday night, the two collaborated on an after-party exclusively for the non-winners, the 2nd placers, the…ahem, losers!
In a recent interview, Jon explained the reasoning behind Jon and Amy's part-ay celebrating the lo-sahz, sharing:
"We figured that the winners get celebrated enough so we thought it was about time that the losers get celebrated. And Poehler and I are friends from a long time ago and every year when we would lose the Emmy we would kind of wink at each other and call each other loser for the rest of the night."
Our math might be a little off here, but we're pretty sure 1 wink from Jon Hamm = 23 Emmys! And it can probably cure most diseases!
According to Jon, the pair got the idea after Kristen Wiig held an after-party at her hotel last year.
"We called it the Losers Lounge because nobody that was there won and it kind of stuck. We were like, ‘That was a really fun party. We should do that again, but we should do it bigger and better and invite our friends who aren't going to win either and we'll have a good time with it.'"
However, winners did get to go the party last night…if they forked over $1,000 (for charity) and checked their Emmy at the door! Hey, a fair price to party with Jon and Amy!
Hmm we wonder if people got the wrong Emmy back when picking it up from the coat check?
