I was perusing around the K-pop blogsphere to get inspired on what I should write on this lovely site, when I came upon actor Cha Seung Won’s son who is currently in jail for raping a high school girl after imprisoning her in his grandpa’s villa. What? Am I the only person who is completely shocked by this story? The sad story has propelled me to write an article on the top stories that shocked us all.
You can read the Cha Seung Won story here, but I was interested in giving my initial reaction to the whole bit. Known for his handsome face, stellar figure, comedic timing, and talented ways, Cha Seung Won had a son with his wife as a teen. He always came on talk shows talking highly of his family, specifically his son. I have no idea how that kid was raised or if something in his life influenced his decision to “imprison, assault, and rape” a high school girl, but there is clearly something happening here that is beyond control. The son was also kicked out of an online gaming team after a stint with using marijuana. Jeez!
I remember hearing the Daesung motorcycle story and feeling incredibly sad for all parties involved. In a nutshell, Daesung was driving down a road when he ran over a hurt motorcyclist on the road and crashed into a parked taxi that was on the side of the road. He was going 20 miles over the speed limit and controversy ensued when police began to investigate whether or not the man on the floor was dead already or if Daesung had indeed killed him. Daesung was later cleared of charges and had to suspend his public activities with Big Bang for a given amount of time.
Known for being one of the best actresses in Korea of all time, Choi Jin Sil was beloved for her work in tv, film and commercials. When news of her beloved best friend’s husband, Ahn Jae Hwan committed suicide, many netizens attacked Choi Jin Shil for being involved in his apparent suicide. Rumors circulated that she had borrowed a large sum of money from a loan shark. After numerous attacks from the nation and netizens, media accusations, etc., the actress hung herself in 2008. Her younger brother soon followed after a year and a half later, leaving her two kids in the care of their mother. One of the saddest stories to ever happen in Korean entertainment.

Through Ha Eun Joong(played by Kim Jae Won), Joo Ha noticed that Tae Ha was involved in the arson at Woo Ah Mi(played by Jo Yoon Hee)’s house.
