Oh noes!!! This is just the saddest thing ever!
When Chelsea Handler agreed to be on TLC's Who Do You Think You Are — a show dedicated to exploring celebrity genealogy — we doubt she had any idea they would uncover this!
As it turns out, one of the Chelsea Lately host's maternal grandparents served in the Second World War as a soldier — for Germany. Yes, indeed, it seems her grandfather served under the Nazi regime, being taken as a "prisoner of war at some point to America," and later fleeing the country with his family after the war was over.
Yikes! We can't imagine how upset she must've felt after uncovering that dark of a spot in her family's history, though she admits to the cameras while reading her grandmother's memoir that she didn't really know if her grandfather agreed with Hitler or not.
The poor gurl! A tough family secret to hear.
