[News] Park Bo Young Is Determined To Be A Mean Girl

Park Bo Young has signed on to play a mean girl and it's a role that has many of her fans excited because it is so different from her previous roles. The actress has accepted the role of Young Sook in a movie titled "Hot Blooded Youth." The film's story takes place in the early 80s in Heongseong and follows the lives of high school students, exploring their loves and friendships. The film is scheduled to start shooting in a few weeks.

Park's character, Young Sook, is the leader of a gang of schoolgirls who drink, smoke and act tough. It will be a change of pace for Park Bo Young, who is known for playing sweet sympathetic roles.

The actress made her debut in the drama "Secret Campus" with fellow rookie actor Lee Min Ho. She appeared in as many as five dramas in 2008, becoming famous after the breakout hit "Speedy Scandal." Her role as a teenage mom in the drama won her a Best New Actress Award in 2009.

Legal disputes with her agency kept her from working for a while but by 2011 she was back at work, dubbing the voice of Jewel in the animated film "Rio" and appearing as Se Hee in the film "Don't Click."

In the 2012 fantasy romance film, "Werewolf Boy," she befriends and tries to tame a wild boy, played by Song Joong Ki. She civilizes him and falls in love with him. The film sold seven million tickets. This past year Park has been part of the cast of "Law of the Jungle," a reality show.

Kara member Goo Hara, who appeared in "City Hunter," is also considering a leading role in this film but is facing some scheduling problems.

According to a representative of the film's production crew, there are still a few details to work out and one is that they must wait for Goo Hara to fit the film into her demanding schedule with the girl group Kara. Hopefully these scheduling conflicts can be resolved quickly so filming can start.
Netizens have expressed interest in seeing the onscreen chemistry between the two actresses and in seeing Park Bo Young act tough.

Lee Yeon Woo, who directed the films "2424" and "Running Turtle" will direct the movie.
