Be sure to check out her great drama blog, K-Drama Central.

=====

This week was a bit more serious and was cause for some heated discussions due to Young Do’s bullying and odd ways of getting Eun Sang’s attention. I won’t get too deep into it because I like to keep my posts sort of light and not too heavy – I’d be here for hours if I were to do that. I have a lot of thoughts about Choi Young Do right now. Onward to whatever I feel like discussing today!

Young Do Cancelling the [Dreaded] Family Photo Shoot

It’s no secret that Young Do and Rachel are 100% against their parents getting married. Each has their own reasons for disliking the remarriages, but so far we haven’t seen them take any initiative to actually ruin anything… until now. Esther and Daddy Choi each tell their kids that the family photo shoot is going to happen, regardless of what they think, so what do they do? Rachel asks Young Do to end the engagement, but he knows that’s near impossible right now so he can only ruin the photo shoot. How does Young Do do this? By purposely inviting one of his dad’s ex’s and “pretending” like it was a mere run-in. She calls Daddy Choi ‘Oppa’ and Esther is too pissed to smile and storms out. See that Daddy? You should never tell your son that it’s okay to cheat as long as he wins. That’s like Parenting 101.

Tan Officially Confesses To Eun Sang

We all knew he liked her, but Tan has never actually told Eun Sang that. You can all guess what her reaction was right? She wants to pretend she didn’t hear it and wants Tanny to keep his distance, but he’s set on invading her privacy and interfering in her personal life as much as possible. I know Eunny likes Tanny, but he’s got one teensy weensy problem – he’s engaged. Of course he tells Rachel that he likes Eun Sang and that they should go back to being friends, but he’s got it wrong when he thinks that it is that simple to break the engagement or to think that she wouldn’t be hurt by it. Let’s see how this all turns out… *grabs popcorn*

Bo Na Hates Chan Young? I would be the first to admit that even though I love this couple, it can be a bit irritating to see Chan Young constantly run to his BFF whenever she was in trouble. Young Do suspects that Eun Sang isn’t new money, as Tanny has made it seem to everyone so he proves his point by dumping out the contents of her bag. When Bo Na appears and criticizes him for delaying class, he takes her purse and does the same in an attempt to compare the items within the bags. Chan Young appears, asks if both are okay but helps Eun Sang first. I give Eun Sang credit because she tells him to help his girlfriend first, but all he says is thanks to Bo Na for not telling. She says she hates him and storms out the room. Granted, she’s normally like this, but his facial expression says otherwise and shows how much that affected him. Her face changes, and it seems like she sees something in him. He also tells her that he dropped his lawsuit against Joon Young – she didn’t think he would but he says he told her he would and that’s what he wanted to say. Tanny comes in <del>and ruins it</del> on the defense about why Young Do is there. Both guys are so busy giving a stare down/talk that they don’t notice Eun Sang left and bought them drinks. He <del>stalked her</del> waited outside of her apartment when he saw her getting out of a car, then was surprised to see it was Secretary Yoon… good ol’ Secretary Yoon. Poor Won, he looked like he needed a hug. Too bad his dad has been blocking his romance from ever happening, especially when he has someone following him around.

Tan and Bo Na’s Short Conversation

I don’t know if this is even worth talking about in this way, but I actually adored the conversation, even if it was extremely short. Eun Sang is waiting to meet with Hyo Shin when Tan walks up and asks if he should help her get in since he knows Hyo Shin. Bo Na walks out after her announcements, sees Tan and tries to make a run for it (again) but is stopped when her adoring boyfriend/fanboy pops up with a drink claiming to be her fan. They’re all cutesy flirty-like so Eun Sang takes this as her chance to leave (you know, since she’s trying to avoid Tan and all), but he tries to stop her. She uses Chan Young to escape. Bo Na and Tan are left feeling like rejects, but she tries to leave as well (aww, why are both of them trying to avoid him?) until she turns to ask him if he still likes her. He plays into it by asking does he? Then she says that she’s very happy with Chan Young, and he points out that they were once happy and she really liked him. She corrects him by saying it was enough. He asks her does her boyfriend know that he still likes her? She says why should he know that and to forget her. Haha – gotta love Bo Na. Now I kinda see why they were together. I still want a flashback of them together, please writer-nim?

BONUS! Chan Young says Bo Na Doesn’t Get Angry, She’s Cute

Chan Young is helping Eun Sang when her phone rings – she ignores it and he asks who it is. Eun Sang has secrets too, she tells him to go find Bo Na before she gets upset. Chan Young’s answer? His Bo Na doesn’t get upset, everything about her is cute. Hee.

Last Week’s Question

The question was: What do you think happened between Secretary Yoon and Esther Lee? Here is Min Young Park‘s answer: “i think … that Esther and Chan Yoong’s father dated 20 years ago and they could not get married because social classes.” This answer was extremely close to the answer we got. Jae Hoo told Esther he now knows why they didn’t work out, there were a hundred people telling him why they shouldn’t be together. Daddy Kim sent Eun Sang to Empire High so a hundred people could tell her why she should stay away from his son.

My question this week is a poll: Which “surprise kiss” was better: Tan’s rooftop kiss to stop Eun Sang from answering her phone or Yoon Jae Hoo kissing Esther Lee in the hallway. I’ll let you know the results next week. Broadcast on September 13, 2013.

javabeans: So Sunny stays an extra day after all, to everyone's delight. You know, I'm going to assume that having her around actually made things really smooth and easy, because have you noticed how her second day whizzes by in screentime? Whereas when it's Seo-jin sweating alone, for instance, you can make so much screentime out of so little because of all the tension.

girlfriday: Yeah basically if things went smoothly, we zoom past. Seo-jin struggles with dinner reservations, with Na PD nagging over his shoulder more than usual, and they head over to a giant tower to have dinner. Except I'm pretty sure they don't have reservations. Hm.

javabeans: The thought process seems to be, We may have to wait. But surely something will open up. Surely? Which are odds I don't like. I think Seo-jin may be secretly praying a little.

girlfriday: Seo-jin manages to get a table pretty quickly (thank goodness) but doesn't bother getting a second one for the crew. The PDs are literally like, "What about us?" Seo-jin just stares, "So?"

javabeans: MUAHAHA.I don't know if he left them out on purpose, or if it's a mistake he's not exactly jumping to fix. Because remember in Europe when it started seeming like he was becoming the whole crew's travel guide, and he was all, WTF?

girlfriday: Yeah it's his petty payback. So the cast gets ushered in for dinner, and the crew is left standing there watching, and Na PD has to chase them down. Hee.

javabeans: Of course, it's not actually good for the show (or the cast) to have zero cameras, and the PDs force a camera into Seo-jin's hands. Na PD points out that they can't just NOT film, so he'll have to be the one to get the footage. Which is pretty much a textbook case of a revenge backfiring.

girlfriday: Pffft. Never try to out-petty Na PD.

javabeans: Ha, and even as Na PD is withdrawing, he's peering over Seo-jin's shoulder and complaining about the shot composition. (To be fair, Seo-jin was cutting off heads.) I like how Sunny casually repositions the camera, then takes over entirely. Lol, she really is better than him at everything.

girlfriday: I know, right? You think Seo-jinnie's doing a good job, until Sunny starts doing everything faster, better, and with a sunny attitude to boot.

javabeans: I'm a little concerned that having Sunny preoccupied with the camera might reduce the amount of cheery interaction at the table since she's the mood-maker, but on the other hand, the halbaes are much more willing to pose and make cute faces when she's the camera operator.

girlfriday: It's adorable. They pose for her every other minute.

javabeans: She even gets Seo-jin to smile and orders, "Oppa, dimples!" On cue, dimples.

girlfriday: Even the halbaes get in on the VJ action, and it turns into a fun activity, with everyone passing the camera around.

javabeans: You know they only offer so that she can eat. If it were Seo-jin, forget it.

girlfriday: Na PD sidles up to Seo-jin in the middle of dinner and says they have to buy tickets to go up to the top of the tower, but when Seo-jin hears that there's a ticket price per person, he half-jokes that they should skip it. But then the halbaes start chiming in on Seo-jin's side. Soon-jae halbae: "Can we just say we did and not?" Lol. The look on Na PD's face.

javabeans: HEE. I feel like Na PD was counting on getting his scenic shots and forcing the cast to pay for it, two birds one stone. But now that they don't want to, he's all, Wait… but I need to get those shots… how did this get away from me? He makes attempts to convince them they really want to see it ("It's really quite nice…. you'll enjoy seeing it…") but they're all, "Nah."

girlfriday: It's so funny how his gaze moves from person to person at the table, and I swear it looks like he's shrinking.

javabeans: Don't you love how he has to actually excuse himself to go think? Sunny giggles hysterically after he leaves, and the halbaes all chuckle that he's gotta be suffering. It's so great how they know exactly what they just did, even as they're feigning innocence.

girlfriday: I love that moment.

javabeans: Na PD holds a frantic meeting with his staff, then returns to say he got permission to shoot. But Seo-jin sticks to the line that the production has to pay the fees, and Na PD actually says, "Where did you learn [behavior like] that?" Seo-jin retorts, "I learned it from you!"

girlfriday: Muahaha.

javabeans: Seo-jin checks with the halbaes that they wouldn't mind terribly going up to the roof if, say, the crew paid for the tickets, right? And Gu halbae is all, Well in that case, I'm sure we can be persuaded to oblige them. It's so hilarious.

girlfriday: Na PD's got his own stubborn streak, and tries to negotiate splitting the fees, which is just hilariously futile. I mean, after all that do you really think you'll get money out of them?

javabeans: Gu halbae takes the lead in the counterargument, and don't you remember how it ended the other day when you tried to wring money out of him? He scoffs, "You can't do that. If you're gonna spend some money, spend it all! Otherwise we'll just be going. We can take the subway back."

girlfriday: At one point, Na PD's argument boils down to whining: "Teacher! You liked me once!"

javabeans: Now you can see how these halbaes have that chaebol-killer-instinct necessary to turn them into hardass mofos in all those dramas.

girlfriday: It's a chicken-egg thing. Did playing the cold chaebol CEOs make them this way?

javabeans: They even cut him off preemptively, all, "You're about to try negotiating one more offer, aren't you?" I love how much Sunny is enjoying all this, and just like the other night, things end with the halbaes clapping and thanking Na PD for giving in, while he stands there speechlessly.

girlfriday: If he had a tail, it'd be between his legs.

javabeans: Of course, as soon as they get up to the viewing area the halbaes are all, "Oh it's really nice. I'm glad we came up." Hee. Gu halbae thanks Na PD, who actually (pathetically?) tries, "So do you want to pay…" Gu halbae: "No! Those talks are over."

girlfriday: After sightseeing courtesy of Na PD, they head back to the guesthouse, where Seo-jinnie gets busy looking for their next hotel rooms.

javabeans: He gets help from the guesthouse clerk, who searches online for new hotels. There are intermittent bursts of laughter from Sunny, who's enjoying a halbae pajama fashion show, and Seo-jin hangs his head, back to worrying about the mood dropping after she leaves.

girlfriday: With hotel rooms booked (at the hot springs) everyone heads to bed for the night, and then Sunny is the first to wake up in the morning so she can make breakfast for the halbaes.

javabeans: Sunny has to leave for the airport soon, and Soon-jae halbae asks when they'll meet again, and she assures them that she'll see them in Korea (as in, she'll keep up relationships). He confirms that she has 8 bandmates in SNSD, and says, "I can buy 9 of you dinner." LOL.

girlfriday: Aw, and then it's time for her to leave for the airport, and everyone's SO SAD.

javabeans: She gives them all hugs, and then the halbaes make her give Seo-jin a hug too (which is awkward in an amusing way), always ready to shove them together. Way to undercut the sad moment. We cut to an interview with Sunny, who explains that at some point in the trip the dynamics got a lot more comfortable as the halbaes (whom she calls fathers) joked around with her and she started to consider them more fathers/grandfathers. The PD asks about her own grandfathers, and Sunny starts to get emotional, explaining that they've passed away, and that she wasn't able to go to the funeral because of her idol activities.

girlfriday: Once Sunny's gone, the mood is as advertised: silent, stoic, tense.

javabeans: It's like the mood was a dog that rolled over and died.

girlfriday: It doesn't help when we get a montage of just how different things are With Sunny and Without Sunny.

javabeans: Don't you love the song lyrics that match so well? It's all about how (she) blew in like the wind, out like the wind, in like a cloud, out like a cloud. Like now they're in the aftermath of some happy tornado but just left with emptiness. So funny.

girlfriday: And the strange thing is, I don't even think Seo-jin is all that different, because I'm pretty sure he was this terse from the beginning. It's just so pronounced because of her absence.

javabeans: Right? Na PD mentions that it seems the mood is much lower now, and Seo-jin retorts, "This is how it always was!"

girlfriday: It's like, when he was the only one who was so worried about the mood while it was happy, he seemed crazy. Now, you realize he was the only one who knew exactly what he was talking about.

javabeans: It's a long walk from the subway station to their hotel (15 minutes), so after a brief attempt to suggest the walk, Seo-jin changes tack and spends a loooong time hailing taxis. They take two, and as the halbaes watch the road go by, Il-sub halbae asks, "He wanted to walk this whole way?! We would have been doomed!" And then Seo-jin says from the other taxi, "Man, we would have been doomed."

girlfriday: They make it to the hotel where they get the bad news that they can't check in until evening, but Seo-jin manages to finagle two rooms early, which phew. He takes out cash to pay for the halbaes' rooms, and Na PD totally tries to sneak extra. For the tower? Are we still not giving up on that?

javabeans: Because of the late check-in, the halbaes start thinking there was a good reason these rooms were cheap, and you can see Seo-jin starting to sweat. What if we get a repeat of the Rainbow hotel, which he reserved purely for the cheap price and had to feel sorry about the whole time? So he tells the halbaes he'll check first and totally darts ahead to see if he has cause for concern. I am SO relieved when the rooms look fine, nothing like the Rainbow place where there was barely any room to walk.

girlfriday: I know. I was holding my breath with Na PD's refrain, "You came here with dreams of rainbows…" floating in my head.

javabeans: Seo-jin is pretty proud of himself, especially when the halbaes are pleased with the suites. But then Na PD tells Seo-jin to share with the halbaes (as in, give up the third room), which, D'OH! Na PD tells the halbaes Seo-jin will be sleeping on their floor. Seo-jin demands his money back from Na PD, and totally hovers while Na PD counts out the cash, until Na PD totally whines, "I'm gonna give it, okay? I will!" As though he hadn't just tried to STEAL from him.

girlfriday: And then he actually says, "When have I ever conned you?" How can you even say that with a straight face, Na PD?

javabeans: LOL, Seo-jin waits until he gets the cash to reveal that this suite was actually the most expensive one. Na PD makes one ineffectual lurch to grab money back, but basically, Seo-jin wins this round. One PD complains that Seo-jin has "gotten strange," in that he has picked up strange habits from the grandpas.

girlfriday: So then Na PD follows Seo-jin around to get his petty revenge and points out that the hotel view is of construction, which is strangely a running theme in their travels. He asks (voice dripping with sarcastic marvel): "Wow, look at that view! Did you find this place on purpose? It seems like you found it on purpose."

javabeans: Does Na PD get especially bratty after suffering supposed losses? Like he just HAS to needle extra-hard?

girlfriday: He really does. It's extra funny when you can watch the build-up.

javabeans: The group treks over to the hot springs, but it's a rather dispiriting affair because the weather is so hot and they're all just wilting in the heat. I mean, I'm pretty sure they'd all be silent anyway without Sunny, but it's like an extra burden, the oppressive heat.

girlfriday: Seo-jin wonders why it's so difficult here, when they walked way more in Paris and other places. Caption: "Look within yourself for the answer." Ha.

javabeans: Seo-jin buys entrance tickets and hands them out, at which point Il-sub halbae checks that he can just get in the water nekkid. And there's this collective reaction of, "Omigod no! Swimsuits!" Ha, I'm glad he checked ahead of time.

girlfriday: Lol. That would've been a hilarious mistake.

javabeans: There's a close-up from above as Gu halbae enjoys his soak like he's in a happy dream, and the camera gets closer and closer and closer until Gu halbae is all distorted in the extreme close-up. I'm less interested in Gu halbae's thoughts in this moment than I am in the image of what the heck the VJ is doing looming above him like that.

girlfriday: It's moments like that you wish they had a bigger crew, so someone else could catch the VJ on camera.

javabeans: They enjoy the soak for a while, eat ice cream, then head on over to the next stop. Seo-jin has taken on the habit of checking exact distances and asking whether it's okay, which is 400 meters today. I say it's a smart tactic since the halbaes are gonna be fine with it before you start walking, and once you start walking they can hardly complain since they already said it was fine. Heh. Better than the all-too-familiar "Are we there yet?"

girlfriday: But as we've witnessed before, 400 meters is plenty of distance for the group to split up, get turned around, and lose each other. Even if they're all going in a straight line. As usual, Soon-jae halbe starts getting waaaay ahead of the pack, and people start getting nervous. The editing plus "I Believe I Can Fly" is really cracking me up today.

javabeans: And how Gu halbae assures Seo-jin, "He'll stop and see we're behind, and he'll wait" only to have Soon-jae halbae stop, see they're behind, wait two seconds and continue his march onward.

girlfriday: As they take the train, Geun-hyung halbae looks up pictures of Sunny's arrival in Korea on his phone to show Il-sub halbae: "Your daughter has landed." Seo-jin tells Na PD about it, and Na PD needles: "They don't laugh when they look at you, but they laugh at pictures of Sunny on the internet. Hyung, try harder. You can be loved like Sunny." HA.

javabeans: Their destination is a hot tourist spot by the water, and crowded with people. The group sits and rests as they watch the sunset and take pictures and sorta zone out at the end of the day, until it's time to go eat dinner. They get to the teppanyaki place, and I love that the halbaes wave away the waiter when he shows them the menu, telling him to take it up with Seo-jin instead.

girlfriday: Oh noes… this place doesn't serve liquor! Gu halbae's like, No no no no, that won't do. Ack, do they have to go elsewhere?

javabeans: Ha, they send Seo-jin to go buy something at a convenience store, and he returns with this big bottle of liquor (it's kaoliang, which I presume is sorta the closest thing to soju he can find). I'm just glad the restaurant allows this.

girlfriday: Seriously. It wouldn't fly anywhere in this country. So then there they are, pouring likker into paper cups at the restaurant. I love it.

javabeans: Once they get a few drinks in them, the halbaes start praising Seo-jin for being indispensable, which is sweet, though they also joke that they oughtn't shower him TOO much. But they'll make it up to him by marrying him off, they say, and start planning the mock ceremony where Soon-jae halbae can officiate, Il-sub halbae can emcee, Gu halbae can greet guests, and Geun-hyung halbae can usher. Il-sub advocates setting him up, saying that he set up Sohn Ji-chang and Oh Yeon-soo. Omg really? That's so cute, they're one of those steady power couples.

girlfriday: That's so sweet. Seo-jinnie is definitely next.

javabeans: Seo-jin starts to say how funny it is that Soon-jae halbae was singing Nam Sang-mi's praises on the last trip, and now she's playing Il-sub halbae's daughter in their current drama. I honestly think he's just making conversation with a fun fact, but Il-sub halbae's all, "You like Nam Sang-mi? Okay I'll see if she's available." She's totally taken, of course, but it's cute.

girlfriday: Ha, they're just like real parents. You can't say one damned thing without it turning into a whole rigamarole. Meanwhile, Gu & Sub proceed to get trashed. They just get progressively drunker and drunker…

javabeans: God, I just had a vision of us as them, fifty years later. That's totally going to happen isn't it.

girlfriday: Quick, let's line up a luggage boy, stat.

javabeans: No, we have to wait thirty more years for him to be born.

girlfriday: What.

javabeans: I mean, unless you want a sixty-year-old luggage boy.

girlfriday: Well what's the fun in that? Okay, I see your point.

javabeans: Gu & Sub are so hilarious when they're three sheets to the wind. They amble on over looking for ice cream, get to a counter (that totally isn't ice cream) and exclaim, "Ice cream! Mango! Two!" They're pointed in the right direction, repeat that dictate, and then fight over who pays.

girlfriday: Hahahaha. This buying ice cream business turns into a whole thing, mostly because they're really drunk. It's hiliarious.

javabeans: "Order one more!" "But Soon-jae hyung already ate one, I saw." "Then get one for Seo-jinnie." "Do you take American dollars?" "No no no no no!" "This one." "Pay first!" "I want to order this one." "Cash! Cash cash cash cash cash cash cash cash!" Mind you, this is all Gu & Sub, while the cashier just looks confused through it all.

girlfriday: I'm suddenly having a flash to Hoo and Jun-su in Dad Where Are We Going, where they get sent to the market on their own and have to ask which color money with whose face they have to give for the rice. Somehow, it feels the same.

javabeans: They buy four total, leaving out Soon-jae halbae's because he did just eat one on his own. But then when the others get handed out, Soon-jae halbae gets this hilariously longing look on his face, and I'm like, he totally wants one. Gu halbae sheepishly explains that they know he ate one already, and Soon-jae halbae assures them that's the case, but then Gu halbae tries shoving his half-eaten cone at his hyungnim to make up for it, and it's hilarious.

girlfriday: They get to take the staff bus back, and Il-sub halbae asks really loudly what's gotten into Na PD and if maybe he's gone (like they stole the bus out from under him?) and Na PD chirps, "I'm right here!" Hee. Seconds later, Il-sub halbae offers Na PD his half-eaten ice cream. He must've felt bad.

javabeans: This is the last night for the full cast, as the next day Geun-hyung and Il-sub halbaes will be leaving, and Gu halbae will be left with Soon-jae halbae. He's losing his drinking partner, so he proposes that Soon-jae halbae match his drinking pace tomorrow, say with half-drinks, and Soon-jae halbae passes off the task to Seo-jin.

girlfriday: Gu halbae: "What, you don't wanna?"

javabeans: Soon-jae halbae agrees to just one, and Gu halbae is both disappointed and drunk and makes this hilarious gesture behind hyungnim's back, like he wants to smack him.

girlfriday: Heeheehee. I sense a storm brewing. If there's one thing I know, it's that you can't get between a halbae and his liquor.

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 10

Lee Seung-gi to be Na PD's next luggage boy

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 9

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 8

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 7

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 6

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 5

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 4

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 3

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 2

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 1

[embedded content]

Tags: Baek Il-sub, featured, Grandpas Over Flowers, Lee Seo-jin, Lee Soon-jae, Park Geun-hyung, Shin Gu

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-23656281364104728572013-11-09T14:34:00.001-08:002013-11-09T14:34:23.539-08:00[News] IU Confirmed for ‘Pretty Boy’ with Jang Keun Suk

[News] IU Confirmed for ‘Pretty Boy’ with Jang Keun Suk
It’s been confirmed that IU will be the heroine of Pretty Boy.

IU has been casted as the female lead, Kim Bo Tong, in KBS’ upcoming new drama, Pretty Boy, which will begin after Secret.

Kim Bo Tong is a girl who is botong (normal) in everything, from looks to background. Thankfully we see him put on a bulletproof vest in flashback, and then seconds later he opens his eyes.

Jae-kyung gives the cue for the other agents to hunt down the shooter, while she tells Tae-san to play dead—they don't know if their bad guy brought friends. So he lies back down, only two seconds later, Seung-woo is running out of the building screaming, "No!"

Wait, nobody told him about the sting part of the sting operation? You let him think Tae-san was going to die? People! He runs for Tae-san, who panics at the thought of being caught, and bolts on his motorcycle. So much for playing dead. Seung-woo steals Jae-kyung's car and follows.

Meanwhile the rest of the team capture Teacher Kim (with no less than four tranquilizer darts, in case of cyborg) and hit their first roadblock: their shooter has no gun. Jae-kyung starts to tell her team to send uniforms to scour the building… when something explodes outside the window.

Dammit. He blew it up, didn't he? The special agents cotton on right away, and tell her that he set the sniper rifle to explode, which makes this man a professional. Jae-kyung digs around in his jacket for some piece of identification, and is shocked to find that he hasn't destroyed his phone.

She calls the number in the log, and as expected, Boss Moon answers. He only asks if it's done, and Jae-kyung quickly records the conversation. She waits silently, hoping that he'll say the words, Did you kill Jang Tae-san.

But he's too quick on the uptake to fall for that, and realizes that the silence means Teacher Kim isn't there. Jae-kyung smiles and reveals herself, and Boss Moon hangs up in a panic.

Tae-san ditches the motorcycle and hides in a warehouse, and Seung-woo follows doggedly. Jae-kyung calls and finally tells him that Tae-san didn't really get shot, and that it was prop blood. She urges Seung-woo to let him go.

He calls out to Tae-san anyway, asking to talk. Tae-san thinks to himself that he doesn't really feel like being questioned by Seung-woo twice or being carted away in cuffs. But Seung-woo apologizes for not listening to him before, and says he believes Tae-san was framed.

Tae-san smirks to himself that maybe he's not such a bad guy after all, and then when Seung-woo pleads with him to come talk to him for Su-jin's sake, he can't turn away. He comes out to face him directly.

Then we cut to a pair of handcuffs, and I have a momentary lurch of panic. But it turns out to be Teacher Kim on his way to the prosecutor's office, which makes me feel bad for not trusting Seung-woo.

We don't see Tae-san's conversation with Seung-woo, but he returns to Jae-kyung's apartment alone. It's then that we see his jacket lined with a blood bag, over a bulletproof vest.

Jae-kyung interrogates Teacher Kim, who gives no name and simply asks for a lawyer. His fingerprints don't show up in the system, which is hardly a surprise, and they don't find a single weapon on him. Drat.

Boss Moon reels to discover that Tae-san and Jae-kyung have already been working together, and then suddenly Seung-woo storms into his office and grabs him by the shirt. The minions get sent away, and Seung-woo growls, "You said you wouldn't kill him, you son of a bitch!"

WAIT. WHAT. Seung-woo… you're not… the mole, are you? Nooooooooooo. Say it ain't so, Seung-woo. Say it ain't so.

Flashback to the first conversation he had with Boss Moon, where after they take turns cursing at each other, Boss Moon offers a deal: Seung-woo makes sure the camera ends up in his hands, and Boss Moon makes sure Su-jin doesn't die.

Seung-woo refuses to make a deal with a lowlife and gets up to go, when Boss Moon calls him out on staging this whole conversation to get it on tape and arrest him for something so petty as threatening an officer.

He points out that the room is protected against such tactics, and Seung-woo realizes he failed to get it on tape. Boss Moon makes it clear that he has no problems killing Tae-san and therefore Su-jin… unless Seung-woo does whatever it takes to make sure he gets that camera, even if he has to follow In-hye's every move.

Seung-woo sticks to his principles and refuses the deal, but then when he visits Su-jin in the hospital later that day, he recognizes the candy dish from Boss Moon's office, along with other presents. Oh no.

So then the day In-hye went after the camera, Seung-woo followed her to the nail shop, found out where the sale was going to take place… and leaked the info to Boss Moon. Ack. So that's how Teacher Kim found out. Okay, so that makes him a one-time mole and not the other mole… but STILL. Ack.

Back in the present, Seung-woo growls that Boss Moon agreed not to kill Tae-san if he got the camera, but of course Boss Moon tells him to bring proof that he ordered the kill. Seung-woo now realizes what Jae-kyung meant when she described how ruthless cunning these people were.

Boss Moon easily turns the tables, wondering aloud what his precious In-hye would think if she knew he helped steal the camera, or that he shot Tae-san. And what would his chief of police father think? Seung-woo: "You were going to kill Jang Tae-san all along."

Jae-kyung asks Teacher Kim for his name for the millionth time, with no answer. But then when his lawyer shows up with papers for him as a Martin Ramirez who came from France, suddenly he's rattling off answers to match that identity to the letter.

He says he's a student who came here to study the language, went to the building today to take pictures, and that he found the phone by chance. Bah, with no gun to tie him to the shooting, they have nothing. Moments later, he walks free.

Jae-kyung stews, wondering where Boss Moon found a professional like him. She realizes that all the operation did was tip their hand—now Boss Moon knows about her partnership with Tae-san.

His gangsters watch her every move, but of course the one thing they don't suspect is that Tae-san is at her house. He paces nervously waiting for her call, but she walks in with her head hanging and has to tell him that they lost Teacher Kim.

All Tae-san can do is laugh bitterly. They're now empty-handed, without a lead, and exposed. She points out the gangsters following her everywhere. He decides that the only move left is to steal the video file.

We flash back to their strategy session, where Tae-san points out that Boss Moon would never destroy the video completely. He'd keep a copy because he builds his power on the weaknesses of others.

Jae-kyung agrees, but how do they know where to start? Tae-san says that eight years ago Boss Moon wanted him to be his right hand, and he was around long enough to pick up a few things. He'd never keep something important in his office because it could be raided at any moment, and the night of the camera theft, he saw Teacher Kim leave Boss Moon's house. It has to be in the house.

Jae-kyung thinks it's too risky to go breaking into Boss Moon's house, and tells him to just lie low until the surgery. But she realizes what Tae-san has already concluded—he can't get to the surgery without police backup, and to do that he'd have to turn himself in, where Boss Moon will get to him first.

Tae-san: "The most important thing to me is saving Su-jin. Offering up my life to Moon Il-seok was my mistake, but I don't want to be used again. I want to save Su-jin, and I want to live… is that hoping for too much?"

*whimper* No, no it's not… right? Jae-kyung sputters that that's ridiculous—of course he should live. But he points out that if they can't get Moon Il-seok for murder, he dies. He looks up at her Big Board and sighs that the camera was the one thing that could've cleaned up this whole mess, wishing he'd trusted Jae-kyung sooner.

She promises to get Boss Moon for murder, and urges him not to risk breaking and entering. He does offer up one hidden card: Boss Han, the crotchety old man who healed him and ran, who knows Boss Moon's compound like the back of his hand.

Back in the present, Jae-kyung agrees to help him break in. She gives him the things he requested—two recorders, bread, and soju. That's a weird shopping list.

He points to the charity auction post-it on D-Day, and asks how she knows Boss Moon will be there. She says that he and Congresswoman Jo have a history of using real estate as their money channel, and usually buy and sell like clockwork. But she noticed that he was lying low recently, and started to dig into his business.

Once she found out about the auction, she called his secretary posing as a reporter and asked him for an interview on that day. He was booked and scheduled to fly out of the country that night.

Jae-kyung drives away with a man in her passenger seat, which seems reckless until all the gangsters follow, and the real Tae-san pulls out in a different car. He calls Boss Han for help, and leaves a message asking him to give him the lay of the land in his old house. Ah, Boss Moon must've literally squatted there as his prize for pushing him out.

Tae-san returns to the pawnshop as his base, but this time someone recognizes him as he goes in. Uh-oh. He digs around in the safe for something, none the wiser.

Boss Moon and minions stew over the latest turn of events, and he orders Teacher Kim to sit out until it's safe. I was under the impression that his capture would shed some light on their bizarre father-son boss-assassin dynamic, but it remains a mystery for now whether their monikers are literal or figurative.

The tip comes in from the man who saw Tae-san lurking near the pawnshop, and Bits for Brains actually scoffs that Tae-san would never go back there. Boss Moon snaps at him to chase down every lead, even if they're just chasing shadows. Crap.

Tae-san sleeps on the couch in the pawnshop, thinking it as safe as ever. He dreams about the day of Su-jin's surgery, where she guesses that her marrow donor is her father. But then he gets brought into the operating room in prison orange, handcuffed and flanked by Seung-woo and Jae-kyung.

He can barely look at her, and Su-jin looks up in fear: "Is my daddy not a good person? Is he a murderer?" In-hye runs in to hold her: "That man is not your father!"

He cries and screams that he isn't a killer, that he didn't do it, that he was framed. But nobody listens, and Su-jin shrinks away in fear. Oof.

He wakes up with a start, and just in time too. The gangsters come tearing in, but all they find is an empty room with bandages and medical supplies. They search to make sure nothing is missing, and discover a recorder that Tae-san left with a message for the three of them.

He thanks them for the nice comfy digs, and nags the two pawnshop lackeys to do a better job at the office, ha. And then he names Bits for Brains minion as Mi-sook's killer, knowing that it was his knife that Boss Moon used. He asks if Boss Moon would really not throw him under the bus when push comes to shove.

That gets the minions arguing amongst themselves about whether or not the maknae told Tae-san that Boss Moon killed Mi-sook… and we see that Tae-san has planted the other recorder in the room. Nice.

It turns out Tae-san wanted the bread and soju to offer up at someone's grave. He pours a drink at the foot of a tree, and suddenly his accent comes out as he tells his mother that he's here. Oh. It's the day his mother died. Doesn't that also make it his birthday?

He thinks all this in voiceover, and says he wants to just ask her one thing: "Did my father really say he hated me?" He starts to cry and then decides against that question, in favor of another: "Is it nice there? But I don't want to go there… not now."

He calls Boss Han again and says he's in the woods for his mother's memorial, saying that it was windy the day he spread her ashes, so all forests have become his mother's resting place to him. A minute later Boss Han calls back to bark at him to come down so they can eat.

In-hye brings Su-jin her lunch, and she takes one bite of Mom's seaweed soup and knows she made it at home. She wonders why, and Mom says it's because today is Dad's birthday. Aw.

Su-jin asks if she made it to give to Dad, and In-hye says no—Dad doesn't like seaweed soup. She tells Su-jin to eat it in his place, to wish him a happy birthday.

Tae-san goes to meet Boss Han, and the ajusshi scoffs that the fugitive's got it made, riding around in a prosecutor's car. Over lunch they discuss Boss Moon's house, and Tae-san draws the layout as he remembers it. Boss Han is surprised that he kept it pretty much the same.

Tae-san wonders if he wasn't mad about being chased out of his own turf, with Boss Moon literally squatting in his house as his trophy. But ajusshi says he didn't have a wife or children to protect, and didn't much care for revenge, calling it his karmic payback for living the way he did.

He says it was all because he belittled Moon Il-seok when he came to him as a little punk, asking to be his right hand. Overlooking him back then was what led to Boss Moon's revenge ten years later.

Based on Tae-san's sketch he guesses that a false wall was built to hide the entrance to the underground safe. He still thinks it's a fool's errand especially for Tae-san, but he's caught by surprise to hear that he's thought out the particulars for a way to empty out the house, and is suddenly talking like a guy with a brain.

He asks how he plans to open the safe, and Tae-san takes out all his research, saying he's picked up a few tricks here and there. Boss Han doesn't even listen and shoves it all aside: "I'm going in with you."

He said he was planning to leave the country anyway, and sighs that he might as well save Tae-san's stupid life before he goes. He says in his crotchety way, "In all my life I have never seen a bastard with nobody in the universe to lean on like you." Awww. Is it hoping for too much that you turn out to be his father?

Meanwhile, the prosecutor team starts piecing together the circumstantial evidence they have for Mi-sook's murder, starting with Tae-san's frame job. They head back to the crime scene hoping to find a neighborhood shop with a security camera, but when Sang-hoon finds one, the shopkeeper says someone already came by and bought the tape for a bunch of money.

Seung-woo's one step ahead of them and finds a different camera—a car that's been parked on the corner for quite some time, judging by the layer of dust. It's the black-box camera that we saw Tae-san walk past when he came back to the crime scene.

He finds the owner who confirms that the car hasn't moved, and hands over the video footage. Seung-woo joins the prosecutors and they go through all the files until they find the smoking gun: Boss Moon arriving at Mi-sook's house that day.

It's enough for an arrest, and Jae-kyung storms into Boss Moon's office to cuff him herself. *fistpump* It leaves the idiot minion especially nervous and more buffoonish than usual, and he squirms at the thought that he'll be the one to take the fall as Tae-san predicted. He gets a panicked call from the mole, and barks that his identity is safe for now so stop freaking out.

The cops find out belatedly what Seung-woo is up to (trying to gather evidence to clear Tae-san's name), and the captain gets especially angry about it, ordering the others to bring him everything Seung-woo has gathered on Tae-san. Hm, suspicious.

Congresswoman Jo gets the call about Boss Moon's arrest, seconds before a reporter walks in. She postpones the interview because of an emergency, and the reporter asks if the emergency has to do with Boss Moon's arrest. Whoa.

She freezes, as the guy says someone made an interesting bet with him today, that Moon Il-seok would be released in 48 hours, and by Congresswoman Jo's maneuvering at that. Nice one, Park Jae-kyung.

Her boss isn't as happy with her, and chews her out for keeping him in the dark and arresting Boss Moon so rashly. She doesn't have enough to indict and she knows it, but she says she had to stop the injustice that Tae-san was suffering. She promises to do her best to find enough evidence in the time she has.

Boss Moon doesn't break a sweat when she comes in to question him. She shows him the security footage of him arriving that day, along with a picture of him cuddling up with Mi-sook. He doesn't deny that he was there, though he does wonder to himself why she's taking her sweet time with the interrogation.

Meanwhile Tae-san gets the call from Sang-hoon that Boss Moon is in custody and his minions are at the station. That means the house is empty, and he gets ready to go. Ajusshi tells him his safecracker is waiting for the call (apparently he can crack them remotely) and they head out.

Boss Han wheels a cart loaded with cardboard past the house, and Tae-san spills out from the back, jumps on top, and leaps over the wall in one swift move.

Jae-kyung and Boss Moon go 'round and 'round in circles about why he was at Mi-sook's house that day, and his minions pace outside.

Tae-san makes his way to the circuit breaker and shuts off the alarm, and drills carefully into the front door to unlatch it from the inside. Gah, I'm already sweating bullets and it's just the front door?

He makes it inside the house, but then something stops him in his tracks. He turns to the window, and there's Boss Moon, standing right there in his living room, smiling back at him.

WHAT. Ohfuck.

COMMENTS

I really loved the twist that it's not just one mole, because it seemed pretty simple and pat to have a tertiary character be the snitch (though the main mole's identity is still unconfirmed, of course). But when Seung-woo turned out to have been manipulated into giving up the camera, I was appalled, but surprised in a good way. I should've known Boss Moon wouldn't let Seung-woo's connection to Su-jin go to waste. It had just been so long that I forgot he hadn't put that threat to use, and lately he seemed so single-minded in just catching Tae-san.

In my head I'm totally berating Seung-woo for falling for the exact same threat that Tae-san fell for, (I mean, how many times is In-hye going to be used as a weapon to control the men who love her? She's kryptonite for the mens, I swear.) but at the same time I love the parallel. Now Seung-woo has no high horse to sit on, and he should understand better than anyone why Tae-san made the choices he did.

I don't know if that was the final straw in making him work so hard to clear Tae-san's name, but it should change his attitude since he now knows firsthand. You do dumb things to protect the people you love, even if it's really really (really extra) dumb to make deals with murderous gangsters who are known to renege on their deals. I'm still pissed about losing the camera, but I enjoyed the surprise left turn in upright Seung-woo's path.

I'm wary of the whole father birth secret storyline, because I don't really think it's necessary for the show to tell us who Tae-san's father is. It's really only crucial to the backstory that he had a deadbeat dad, and I'd rather focus on what kind of father Tae-san becomes to Su-jin. But I do like grumpypants Boss Han, who seems like a prime candidate for Baby Daddy (the worst-case scenario obviously being Boss Moon).

There is a nice cyclical philosophy that Boss Han and Tae-san share, about karma and the lives they've led. I appreciate it when people acknowledge their agency and their mistakes, rather than whining about fate dealing them a bad hand. It's what I've always liked about Tae-san—he owns up to his failures. Of course he also goes too far, in thinking he's trash that'll never amount to more than trash. But today when he asks if it's too much to hope that he gets to live at the end of this, it's the first time he doesn't say it's okay if he dies, the first time he might consider his life worth something. Naturally, the moment the hero decides he wants to live, my stomach falls to my feet. This writer don't mess around, y'all. She's not afraid to be anyone's grim reaper.

Two Weeks: Episode 11

Two Weeks: Episode 10

Two Weeks: Episode 9

Two Weeks: Episode 8

Two Weeks: Episode 7

Two Weeks: Episode 6

Two Weeks: Episode 5

Two Weeks: Episode 4

Two Weeks: Episode 3

Two Weeks: Episode 2

Two Weeks: Episode 1

[embedded content]

Tags: featured, Kim So-yeon, Lee Jun-ki, Park Ha-sun, Ryu Soo-young, Two Weeks

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-18252295871510004492013-11-09T12:48:00.001-08:002013-11-09T12:48:57.026-08:00Ga-in’s New Pictorial

Ga-in’s New Pictorial
by KPOPPlanet Team(kpop@khan.co.kr) | Sep 25, 2013

Even as she promotes the Brown Eyed Girls’ fifth album, Ga-in is busy raising her value as a beauty and fashion model. Most media is immediately comparing it to recent short hair styles by Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lawrence, but the trend is international. Last week, Korean pop star IU debuted a new short hair style.

In the Flaunt magazine spread, Selena Gomez’s short hair is a wig, and it brings out her sultry side accentuated with smoky eye makeup and sexy lingerie.

Kpop star IU had to cut her hair short after it got damaged by a dye job she got for the cover of her new album. This summer, Miley Cyrus also cut her hair very short after a similar dye job gone bad., right before Miley Cyrus changed her image to the new sexy twerking VMA performance style. IU seems to be going in the same direction.
At the time, Kpop singer IU said "My new album is like a sweet red candy. The album cover was in black and white, but I dyed my hair red, so it felt really sweet."

Like Us on Facebook :

Kpop star IU admitted she cut her hair short because it was damaged from dyeing her hair blonde.

IU said "After I dyed my hair blonde for my album concept, my hair got damaged. But I've always thought that I should try a short hairdo at least once... I tried red hair before, and then I cut it short."

Selena Gomez took the time so counter a feud she’s in with 17-year-old "Royals" singer Lorde who said about "Come and Get It" "I'm a feminist and the theme of her song is, ‘'When you're ready, come and get it from me.'" "I'm sick of women being portraed this way."

Gomez told Flaunt Magazine "That's not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That's my honest opinion, that's what I would say to her if I saw her."

The media was speculating that IU cut her hair for her role on the new KBS 2TV drama "Pretty Man." The new drama debuts after "Secrets: on November 20.

Two years ago, in 2011, IU had a different kind of hair problem. IU was losing her hair because of stress.

IU told the Korean national newspaper Sports Donga that while she was making her second album, “Last Fantasy,” she discovered, “a coin-sized bald spot on my head.” B

The Kpop star said it was because of stress. IU said “To be honest I suffered from a headache maybe because I was always trying to bear this and that. The intimate scene between the two actors portrayed the developing feelings between the two in the drama, causing many viewers to wonder about Mi Rae’s future choice.

However, the behind the scene action portrayed a different story as the professionalism of the two actors was not unnoticed throughout the difficult conditions. Although being soaked by a water truck for about one hour in order to film the scene, both actors remained attentive, focusing on their characters rather than the cold.

Moreover, Jung Yong Hwa showed his manners as he covered Yoon Eun Hye with a blanket and provided the actress with a mini heater and warm water, as the actress had to endure a longer time filming while being drenched.

Representatives of the drama complimented the actors by stating, “Watching both Yoon Eun Hye and Jung Yong Hwa will make the audience of the drama melt with warmness as the ‘fresh-romance’ couple will leave a deep impression. Fans of the drama should anticipate the development of the story as well as the surprises and secrets that will be revealed in the love story of Yoon Eun Hye.”

“Future Choice” airs on KBS2TV every Monday and Tuesday at 10PM KST.

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-52673234841556941992013-11-08T10:19:00.001-08:002013-11-08T10:19:09.282-08:00Family discord abounds in Choi Ji-woo’s Suspicious Housekeeper

Here we have more stills for Suspicious Housekeeper, the drama adapted from a Japanese series about a mysterious woman who comes to work for a family—composed of a widower and his four children—and helps them heal their various emotional wounds. I'm thinking Mary Poppins with a dash of something a little darker, like Nanny McPhee, which was basically a darker Mary Poppins anyway. (And more fun that way, I say.)

Choi Ji-woo is the mysterious housekeeper, while Lee Sung-jae plays the father to a cast of kids being played by some noteworthy young stars. Kim So-hyun (I Miss You) is the eldest and in high school, and as you can see in the stills further down, she faces a rather troubled school life. She's got a prickly personality which we can partially attribute to the fact that in the wake of her mother's death, she feels the burden of responsibility in raising her siblings. There's something else to it, though, as she discovers a secret relating to her mother's death and begins to hate her father, which kicks up family discord.

Siblings 2 through 4 are played by Chae Sang-woo (who's been in a whole string of sageuks, including Jang Ok-jung, Live By Love), Nam Da-reum (Watch Out For Fools, Dong Yi), and Kang Ji-woo (May Queen). They'll be in middle school, elementary school, and kindergarten, respectively.

Wang Ji-hye (President, Bachelor's Vegetable Store) plays one of Dad's co-workers, and she'll incur the wrath of eldest daughter Kim So-hyun, who engages her in a glare-off in the stills below. Not to make every catfight about a guy, but I'm going to assume that Lady's got her eye on the Lonely Widower, and Daughter's having none of it. Hm, how does the housekeeper fit into all this, I wonder…

There's also another familiar veteran face in the cast, Grandpas Over Flowers' doting husband and good-natured Park Geun-hyung, who plays badass chaebols and power brokers so often that it's refreshing to see him playing a normal, cranky ole gramps from time to time. He's only got a few stills and he's basically scolding in each one; he plays grandfather to the children of the house, and Lee Sung-jae's father-in-law. He's already lost his wife and now his daughter, and lives with his youngest daughter, who's still single. Having opposed his deceased daughter's marriage, now the relationship between Gramps and Lee Sung-jae is even rougher than ever.

Basically, this is a family that may be managing to chug along materially but hurting emotionally, and the new housekeeper will be the catalyst in moving everyone along in the right direction. Sounds like it could be a heart-warming human drama.

Suspicious Housekeeper will premiere on September 23; it'll be SBS's Monday-Tuesday drama to follow Empire of Gold.

Via Chosun, TV Report

Choi Ji-woo's new surrogate family in Suspicious Housekeeper

Choi Ji-woo becomes a Suspicious Housekeeper

Grandpas Over Flowers: Episode 1

Na PD launches new travel variety show on tvN

Could We Love loses its spot on the SBS schedule

Yeo Jin-gu and Kim So-hyun potentially together again

Cast assembled for conspiracy drama Father's War

Bachelor's Vegetable Store: Series Review

Bachelor's Vegetable Store: Episode 1

[embedded content]

Tags: Choi Ji-woo, Kim So-hyun, Park Geun-hyung, Wang Ji-hye

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-33021365948806864282013-11-08T10:04:00.001-08:002013-11-08T10:04:07.762-08:00Understanding Kdrama: Begging For Forgiveness
In almost every episode of a kdrama, you may see a character kneel and ask for forgiveness or mercy. A character may kneel before a king, a boss a parent, an enemy or a lover.

In a recent episode of "Secrets," Bae Soo Bin tells Hwang Jung Eum that he will kneel down and beg if it causes her to disappear.

In an even more recent episode (spoiler alert), he does kneel down before her to beg her to abandon her desire for justice. In the same episode, Ji Sung, kneels before his father to beg for his right to choose the woman he loves and to ask his father to forgive him.

Like Us on Facebook :

Ji Sung also kneels before Hwang Jung Eum to express his humility before kissing her.

To read the article, visit kdramastars.com.

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-49113426840678615662013-11-08T09:04:00.001-08:002013-11-08T09:04:50.285-08:00Two Weeks: Episode 11

Things are starting to look up for our man on the run. Well, as up as they can be when you're on the run for murder with an assassin on your tail. Tae-san gains a little more faith from the people around him, and even begins to call a few shots instead of always reacting after being cornered. It's a nice reversal, though as with all things in this world, nothing stays the same for very long…

SONG OF THE DAY

Ha Dong-kyun – "사랑한 후에 (After Love)" [ Download ]

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. He smiles in relief at the first thing that's gone his way since, well, ever, and wonders what on earth is on this thing that he nearly died for.

It turns out In-hye came after all, to make sure that the sale went as planned. She doesn't make her presence known and just watches Tae-san from afar, but she happens to catch the student's phone conversation on his way back inside: "Jang Tae-san?" Ack.

It's the cops, checking on the lead after Man-seok's girlfriend called in to report her visit from In-hye today. They don't bother calling Seung-woo or Jae-kyung, but Seung-woo is actually the first to arrive on the scene. Did he follow In-hye here?

He pulls up just as she takes off running in the other direction, so he circles around to try and catch up to her.

Meanwhile, Tae-san stops to check the camera and doesn't find anything (which we know is because the video is encrypted). A shadow creeps up on him from behind, and I'm not even that scared because I assume it's In-hye…

But aaaaaaack, it's Teacher Kim—a flying Teacher Kim, who launches himself at Tae-san like a fist torpedo, and knocks him down with one blow after another.

Tae-san fights back but it's no use, and soon Teacher Kim has him pinned to the ground. He digs around in his jacket, and yanks out the camera. Nooooooooooo. We just got our hands on it! No. No. No. No. No. No.

Teacher Kim doesn't leave it at that, and now that he has the camera, he starts choking Tae-san to finish him off for good. That's when In-hye arrives, to find Tae-san on the brink of death.

Suddenly a big yellow caution placard comes flying into frame to knock Teacher Kim down—it's In-hye, swinging wildly with her eyes shut. Aw, that's so cute. Of course, the happy rescue moment only lasts two seconds, because now she's being attacked.

Tae-san looks up and sees her struggling to get free from Teacher Kim, and either they've practiced this or she's been in trouble before, because she knows to duck at exactly the right moment when Tae-san leaps to kick Teacher Kim away from her.

I know their lives are at stake, but it's just really endearing how every time Teacher Kim gets one pinned down, the other one jumps into the fray. He's back to Tae-san when Seung-woo finally arrives. Teacher Kim bolts (with the goddamn camera, urg), leaving the love triangle to sort itself out.

Tae-san panics, and In-hye hands him her car key and urges him to run. That's the scene that Seung-woo walks in on: the two of them holding hands, and In-hye telling him to run.

Seconds later, police sirens ring out. Aw, are they going to think that Seung-woo brought them here? Seung-woo looks back and forth between them… and tells Tae-san to run. Whoa. Tae-san bolts, and Seung-woo scrambles to get In-hye out of there before the police arrive. As they do, the captain spots Seung-woo's car and does a double take.

Tae-san takes In-hye's car, but Teacher Kim somehow cuts him off, and stands in his path in a tunnel. Tae-san grits his teeth and drives ahead at full speed, and Teacher Kim freaking Terminator-runs AT the car… and then jumps over it as it speeds past. I knew it. He's a cyborg, right?

Tae-san manages to kick him away from the car, but when Teacher Kim gets up to play chicken again, Tae-san thinks better of it and backs out of the tunnel. But, the camera!

The cops question a few students who witnessed the fight, but they can't identify any of the men as Jang Tae-san, and decide that it must've been a four-way lovers' quarrel, because they saw three men fighting over one woman. Ha.

Jae-kyung checks in with Il-do at the hospital, and hears that In-hye hasn't been in all day. She thinks it unlikely that they unencrypted the video file, but assumes they've got their hands on the camera by now. Well, you're half right.

Seung-woo chastises In-hye for going after Teacher Kim so recklessly when she could've been hurt, and sighs that there's cause for blame and reproach in their relationship now.

She explains that the person who's trying to kill Tae-san is the same man he went to prison for eight years ago, and says she wanted to help him this time, because of everything he lost. Seung-woo asks hesitantly if she parted ways with Tae-san eight years ago without knowing the reason why. She nods without a word.

Tae-san gets away, and berates himself for losing the camera after everything he went through to get here. He hits himself over and over in a rage: "You idiot! You trash!"

In-hye returns to the hospital, where Jae-kyung is waiting. She scoffs in disbelief to hear that they lost the camera. Her eyes fill with angry tears and she lights into In-hye for not trusting her, and choosing to ditch them on the subway.

But this time In-hye argues right back that Jae-kyung isn't in this to save Tae-san: "This is revenge for you, but it's his life! What did he do wrong? Why does he have to run? Who made that camera in the first place?!"

Oh dayum. I love that she's got a spine. She calls Jae-kyung out on her lie that the camera would prove Tae-san's innocence. Flashback to earlier today: In-hye tells Tae-san to take the camera to Jae-kyung, but he already knows that all she wants the camera for is proof of a connection between two people. It doesn't clear his name, and that's not Jae-kyung's priority.

In-hye sighs that if she had known they'd lose it in the end, she should've trusted her anyway. But Jae-kyung apologizes, saying that she was right. In-hye wonders how that killer knew where to find them, and Jae-kyung says that Man-seok's girlfriend called in the tip to the police. At least that narrows down our mole list to the coppers, yeah?

Su-jin is asleep by the time In-hye returns to the hospital room, and she's dozed off clutching the photo of Mom and Dad. In-hye's eyes widen to see it, and Su-jin darts up to argue defensively that it's her photo now. "You threw it away, so it's mine! You ripped it up but I taped it back together, so it's mine!" Awwww, it kills me that this is what she's afraid of right now.

In-hye's heart breaks: "You had it all this time?" She hangs her little head: "Because he's my dad…" She admits to being curious about what Dad looked like, and In-hye can barely hold in her tears as she nods, realizing how obvious that is.

Su-jin asks why Mom isn't getting mad at her, and she says it's because she's sorry, for not thinking that she'd be curious about her father's face, for making her sneak this picture and look at it in secret. Augh, I'm not gonna cry.

Mom asks why Su-jin didn't ask about Dad directly, and Su-jin says it's because Mom always said that everyone had a story they couldn't tell, and because she knew it would make Mom sad. "And I already make you so sad because I'm sick all the time." And, now I'm crying.

She says that she couldn't make Mom any sadder, knowing that Daddy already made her sad. Aw. In-hye hugs her close and says Mom had it all wrong, and misunderstood Dad.

Su-jin lights up immediately, and In-hye promises to tell her everything after her surgery. She hands her the hairpin from Tae-san, adding that she'll tell her all about the person who gave this to her. Su-jin plays dumb for Mom's benefit, and looks up coyly: "Who could it be?"

Tae-san drops In-hye's car off at the hospital, and as he looks up at the building from down below, we get an early flashback to him as a little boy, asking Mom who his dad is. She tells him coldly that he doesn't have a father, since nobody calls him his son, and Little Tae-san asks why.

Mom: "Because he hates you!" Ugh, what a horrible thing to say. No wonder he hates himself.

Imaginary Su-jin stands next to Dad and asks, "You were sad, huh? It hurt, huh?" He nods. He crouches down and takes her hand: "I didn't know it then—that you would be just like me, curious about your father, longing for your father. I didn't know I'd become an adult who caused that."

Su-jin says she didn't know either, how much she'd miss her dad, and how much she'd like him, simply because he's Dad. He marvels at how strange that is, and sighs that a kid like her has to call a bastard like him a father.

He clenches his chest and tells her that it hurts so much whenever he thinks of her, and she reaches out and pets him over his heart. He holds her hand and smiles up at her, while the real Su-jin is up in her room imagining all the ways she's going to wear the hairpin Daddy gave her.

Tae-san texts In-hye that he left the car in the parking lot, and apologizes for being empty-handed after all her help in getting that camera. She assures him that they did their best today, and that there will be another way. He says there is, but doesn't share any details.

Boss Moon gets the camera and rests easy knowing that there's no way Jae-kyung can build a case without this. He turns his minions' efforts into finding Tae-san, to get rid of their one loose end.

Teacher Kim gets orders to kill Tae-san on sight, and heads out. What he doesn't see is that Tae-san is hiding out just a few feet away, keeping an eye on Boss Moon's house. Wait. You're not thinking of robbing the mobster, are you? That is ballsy. He heads to the train station locker where he's keeping his stash of supplies, and picks up a few things.

Meanwhile Jae-kyung is briefing her boss, and says she miscalculated Tae-san—she was trying to read his motivations, but didn't see his daughter's surgery. The chief prosecutor asks if she can get a read on Congresswoman Jo, and Jae-kyung says she isn't a person who was after power to begin with. She just needed that position to feed her greed.

He says they have to figure out what changed her mind, and why now. Jae-kyung can't shake the thought that it has to do with the charity auction somehow—Congresswoman Jo is being uncharacteristically rash with security cameras and her obsession with chasing Jae-kyung, Boss Moon is set to appear at one of her public functions for the first time ever, and she was originally planning to retire after the auction. All signs point to that event.

Jae-kyung sits in her office with her team and channels her inner congresswoman bitch, talking aloud like a crazy person and spewing threats at herself. It scares the daylights out of sunbae Sang-hoon, but it gets her wheels turning.

Congresswoman Jo needed power to make this auction happen, and to keep it untouchable. Jae-kyung decides to investigate the auction from top to bottom—every person and artifact associated with it. Aw yeah. Her phone rings, and it's Tae-san. Ooh.

Boss Moon gets tech support in there to retrieve the video file, but gets told that the only way to unlock it is with a retina scan. You have cameras with retina scanners, but not a remote backup function? Bah.

But then the guy just takes the camera apart and gets the chip out anyway… and I so don't see the point of a retina scanner if you can just monkey the thing open. Whatever.

Anyway, the file is recovered intact, and Boss Moon finally watches the recording of his very incriminating conversation with Congresswoman Jo about the details of the charity auction.

Jae-kyung follows Tae-san's strict instructions and comes alone to meet him. She wonders if all the cloak and dagger is necessary but he's obviously not taking any chances. She knows he isn't here to turn himself in, and says she heard it from In-hye.

He asks if In-hye is okay, and Jae-kyung conveys her message for him to clear his name and make it back to them. He apologizes for losing the camera, and then asks if she's the one who planted it—as in, the person who started this whole chain of events.

She hangs her head and says it's the biggest regret of her life. He tells her to help him catch Boss Moon if she really feels bad, though she doesn't see how. He figures that losing the camera doesn't mean they still can't pin the murder on him. She asks if they can't discuss it over dinner, wanting to at least buy the guy who saved her life a meal.

She admits that she spent years vowing that if she could catch Moon Il-seok, she'd throw her life away in an instant. But the second he captured her and put that duct tape over her mouth, she found herself wondering why she'd been so foolish.

She says it was embarrassing to realize how quickly she would change her mind when she thought she might die, and thanks Tae-san for saving her that day. She sighs that dying at that man's hands would've truly been a worthless death.

So off to dinner they go… with Tae-san dressed as a woman? Hahahaha. Now it's his turn to wonder if all this is necessary, and she rather enjoys telling him that it is, with the reminder that if she's caught helping a fugitive one more time, she'll really get axed.

They walk down a hallway linking arms (Is he supposed to be blind or a drunk rock star?) and she mutters at him to walk naturally. Er, what about this scenario is natural in anyone's eyes?

It turns out she's taking him to her own apartment, which surprises him. But she says it's the safest place she could think of. She guesses that he probably hasn't had a real meal in over a week, and goes to the kitchen while pointing out her Big Baddie Board for him to peruse.

It's only now that he's introduced to Congresswoman Jo—the other person Jae-kyung is after, and the co-conspirator in wanting him dead.

Boss Moon heads over to Congresswoman Jo's house directly, to hand over the camera and the video file. She destroys it on sight, not needing to watch the reminder of the conversation she remembers only too well.

His last loose end is Tae-san, which she doesn't seem so worried about. Jae-kyung, on the other hand, still makes her nervous. She points out that Jae-kyung knows about him attending the charity auction, and he suggests she take care of Jae-kyung too.

Back at Fugitive Bed and Breakfast, Jae-kyung apologizes for the meager spread, not really one for the cooking. But Tae-san takes one bite and is moved. "Freshly made white rice is so good. I didn't know it before."

He takes out a sketch he made of Teacher Kim (aw is this where Su-jin gets her art gene from?) and says this is the assassin he's seen at the sight of the explosion, the day Man-seok died, and at the mall. He's a new face, and Tae-san is sure he came from overseas.

His thinks that if they can catch him for Man-seok's murder, he'll talk because he's just a hired hand. If they can get him to say that Boss Moon ordered the hit, then link that to Mi-sook's murder, they get another way back to the original incident.

He tells her about the penknife that Teacher Kim always carries, and the bus CCTV footage that should've caught his face outside the mall that day, giving her a place to start.

And then he hands over the recording of his pawnshop lackeys taking the call to set up his frame job. When he admits he's been staying there at night, she gapes that he could've been caught. She starts to suggest that he sleep here, but he has to remind her that he's still a fugitive.

She asks what his plan is for getting Teacher Kim, and Tae-san says, "I get shot by him." WHAT. I don't like this plan. Think of a new plan.

By dawn, he's back on the road, and Jae-kyung watches him go from her window. Meanwhile, the gangsters regroup and get sent out to canvas the streets, district by district until they find Tae-san. Jae-kyung asks her boss if they can do this operation quietly, with just a few key personnel. But what if one of them is the mole?

Seung-woo stops by to see Su-jin's doctor (and his friend), to ask what time Tae-san came here the day he found out he was a match. She apologizes for not being able to tell him sooner, and Seung-woo just sighs, wondering aloud why Tae-san lived that way and if it was because he lost In-hye.

The doc realizes Seung-woo is nervous about his relationship, and reassures him that it's all in the past. He asks her to recall what time Tae-san came by that day, because it's important. To clear his name, right?

Next he asks Il-do about the penknife he investigated, and assigns him to find the cab that Tae-san took the day of Mi-sook's murder. Il-do still has no idea why he's stationed in the hospital, but follows orders and doesn't ask questions.

Jae-kyung calls, and tells Seung-woo only vaguely about the plan to catch Teacher Kim. It involves Tae-san turning himself in, knowing that Teacher Kim will show up to kill him. Seung-woo doesn't see why they would now that they have the camera, but Jae-kyung is sure he'll show up to finish the job. The thing they need to find out is how he finds out. Yes, finally, mole-hunting season!

Sang-hoon drops off a motorcycle at a rest stop, where Tae-san picks it up and rides off. Jae-kyung shows up at the police station to buy the boys a beer, playing the part of the weary prosecutor, days away from losing her job.

She takes the captain and the two other detectives out for a beer, which I guess excludes Il-do from the mole suspect list. Phew. She lays down some pretty good bait, with urgent calls from Sang-hoon about Tae-san, and lame excuses that sound like lies.

She excuses herself to take the call, waiting to make sure that the mole follows. She pretends to get the news that Tae-san is turning himself in, and names the time and place. Her lookout confirms that her suspicions were right: "It was that person." Which one?

Boss Moon chuckles to hear that Tae-san is giving up, and sends Teacher Kim to finish him off and go abroad. He orders Brainy Smurf to clean up Teacher Kim's tracks, and make sure he's erased from all their security footage.

Brainy Smurf asks where he found Teacher Kim, noting that the boss is particularly good to him. Boss Moon just says that he isn't a paid hand like everyone else, and that he'll be a future business partner one day.

Jae-kyung makes sure to go alone, making it look as though the rest of her team is stationed at the office. Teacher Kim arrives early as expected, to find the best vantage point.

But as he sets up, we see Jae-kyung arrive with Seung-woo and Sang-hoon even earlier, and plan their hiding spots for the operation. With everyone in place, Tae-san arrives right on time.

As he walks up to Jae-kyung, Teacher Kim shoots from up above, and he takes two hits—to the head and the chest. That had better be a bulletproof helmet, or this is the worst plan ever.

He goes down, and Jae-kyung screams. That's the team's cue to catch Teacher Kim, but I'm worried. There are only four of you, and he's a wily bastard.

He makes it up to the roof and attaches his sniper rifle to a remote-controlled helicopter rig, sending it off without him. Drat, don't they need to catch him with a gun to prove the case?

After sending the gun, he hops rooftops (that leap doesn't seem remotely possible for a non-cyborg, just sayin') and runs down his planned exit route… where Sang-hoon and another agent are armed and waiting. Nice.

Four tranquilizer darts later, Teacher Kim is down.

As Su-jin crosses off another day, Tae-san opens his eyes. D-5.

COMMENTS

Yes, but WHO IS THE MOLE? We'd better find out tomorrow, though I guess with it narrowed down to the three cops, they're fairly interchangeable as story pieces. I'm just glad rookie cop Il-do has been cleared from moledom. I think. I hope. I admit that I was hoping for a twist in the Teacher Kim trap, because it just seemed too pat to have him fall for it so perfectly without a hitch. Though in the grand scheme of things, it's hardly payback for him stealing that camera (URG. URG. URG.) after so much effort from our good guys. My only comfort is that Boss Moon is way too conniving not to have made a thousand copies of that video, for mutually assured destruction in case Congresswoman Jo leaves him hanging.

Things definitely took a swing upwards when Tae-san finally teamed up with Jae-kyung. I feel like I've been waiting so long for this partnership that I just wanted an episode where he sat down and told her everything from the beginning. Life story: go! It was way too short (I mean, couldn't he just sleep on the couch for one measly night?) but I like that we got both strategy—a rare feat for the good guys—and a human connection, with her wanting to make him food to thank him for saving her life. At least now the major misunderstandings are cleared up, and instead of being chased, Tae-san actually has the opportunity to turn the tables on Boss Moon. I worry that they've clearly underestimated Teacher Kim's loyalty to Boss Moon, but hopefully the evidence will be on their side. Hm, though based on how well evidence has served them up until now, that sounds like a pipedream.

The flashbacks to Tae-san's childhood are definitely the most heartbreaking of all the flashbacks. Could there be anything sadder than a kid who gets told that his father disowned him because he hates him, only to be followed by his mother's abandonment and suicide? No wonder he latched onto the first makeshift family and father figure he found. Too bad it happened to be a mob family.

I know that the parallel with him growing up to be a deadbeat dad (by default, not by choice) isn't exactly subtle, but it's so moving as a character motivator. Fighting to save his daughter's life is one thing, and it would've been plenty to motivate a hero alone. But this circle of self-loathing and blame, desperately not wanting history to repeat itself only to find that history has repeated itself and he's become his own worst nightmare—it gives his motivation such depth and dimension.

There's something so fantastic about him knowing he doesn't deserve his daughter's love, and her just giving it anyway, not because he earned it, but because she wants a dad. It was a nice reminder for In-hye too, to realize that in covering up her own pain, she kept Su-jin from being able to ask the most obvious questions any child would ask. It's then that we see that history won't repeat itself this time around, at least for Su-jin. In-hye is able to forgive and look past her pain to what is best for her child, which sets her apart from Tae-san's mother who could never get past her own pain.

Two Weeks: Episode 10

Two Weeks: Episode 9

Two Weeks: Episode 8

Two Weeks: Episode 7

Two Weeks: Episode 6

Two Weeks: Episode 5

Two Weeks: Episode 4

Two Weeks: Episode 3

Two Weeks: Episode 2

Two Weeks: Episode 1

[embedded content]

Tags: featured, Kim So-yeon, Lee Jun-ki, Park Ha-sun, Ryu Soo-young, Two Weeks

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-42856744790156692432013-11-08T08:49:00.001-08:002013-11-08T08:49:33.972-08:00[News] MBLAQ’s G.O Spills the Beans on Idol Dating

[News] MBLAQ’s G.O Spills the Beans on Idol Dating
G.O, from idol group MBLAQ, reveals a secret about idols who are dating.

On September 11, he appeared as a guest on MBC’s variety talk program “Radio Star” where he talked about Lee Joon’s previous comment on the animal kingdom. “We haven’t verified with one of our members.”

In the past, Lee Joon shared on a talk show that idols go around dating each other just like in the animal kingdom.
G.O commented, “I agree about the comment on the animal kingdom. Joong Won had a point about how it’s unfair for them to talk about ending it when they never really started. What he has yet to figure out is starting something can make it that much harder to end it too. Even with just the hand holding for the first time as two people who like each other, he had a problem letting go. How much easier does he think it will get once they have confirmed their feelings for each other all over again in the plain light of day. I always thought this relationship was balanced like a seesaw. Most of the time the weight of his feelings for her seemed stronger than Gong Sil’s so she was always in the air while he looked up at her and tonight was no different. If they were to part, during all that time, I think he will miss her more than him. Not cuz his love is stronger, but since he has voiced his feelings for her more often -it’s more acute. He is the only one who has said he loves her, but she never said it to him yet. It’s like with every thought of her, he falls in love all over again. Bet she can’t say the same thing.

Written before it aired:

It all came down to his gut instinct and the flood of loneliness and emptiness that swept over him for Joong Won to come to his senses. Unless his feet were rooted in sheer stupidity, I just knew he wouldn’t let her go so easily. How much do you want to bet that while he was running to get her back, all these thoughts went through his head. For a very long time now, with each encounter and interaction, Joong Won has come to appreciate her quirkiness. He doesn’t see crazy anymore. All he sees now is warmth, generous spirit, giving heart, unique tendencies, and the only one he could ever love. With every glance, what has been registering on his face these days is sheer desperation at the thought of her slipping away from him and losing her. Maybe that’s what has been driving him to hold onto her so much physically- always clinging and holding on. I don’t blame him. With all the love he has felt in his heart, he just doesn’t want to go back to the cold calculating man that he was. After coming so far, his arms would feel too empty, but most of all – his life would have no meaning. Joong Won offered to be her shelter not knowing all this time she had been sheltering him from the cold world he made for himself. Quite possibly that is the key to why the goat and wolf tried to stay together for so long. Each of them knew what loneliness was and never wanted to go back to that. Gong Sil wasn’t just the light in the dark - she was the warmth Joong Won craved from the cold. Now that he has finally opened his eyes and sees her for more than what she means to him, he can appreciate her better. That is why this improved decisive Joong Won earned the right to go after her and get her back.

Every time a drama comes to a close, they come up with moments of reflection to show flashback scenes of what happened over the course of the show. Not just to reminisce about how far the characters have come or how much they have changed, but for us to note how much we have come to love right along with them. They have shown us quite a few in the last two episodes, but I bet we are in for some more tonight. Even though my finale closing post is coming up tomorrow, I just wanted to say what Master’s Sun has meant to me over the past months. It may have been another drama on a long list of great ones, but this show was a little different. What set it apart wasn’t just the tinge of horror now and then. It was the strong foundation of humor, romance, and potential. In such a short time, it managed to live up to all our expectations and more. The best part of all – though it was always grounded in reality, it never once stopped us from dreaming.

Main Cast:

Episode 16

Starts from their last scene when she says I am leaving. I think I need to be that bright sun just for dead people. I just wanted to be the bright sun who is popular with ghosts, but when I look at you I feel like the dark sun that makes dead people so I get so scared of myself and don’t like it. Joong Won: if I’m not around – it’s not to the extent that it’s “too bad,” it’s scary for you and someone you don’t like? Gong Sil: I don’t want to be that kind of sun rising next to you. just tell me to get lost now. Joong Won: all that time when I told you to get lost without any fear it’s cuz I knew you would rise again for sure next to me (come back to him), but I will try to do as you asked. get lost tae yang. she cries and bows and leaves. he watches her walking away

Joong Won sits alone inside and Kim goes over to him and says I heard Tae Yang is leaving for somewhere far away - weren’t you with her? where is she?

Her sister asks Gong Sil to call often and asks how long she will be gone. Gong Sil says I will know once I get there how long I will be there. Gong Ri looks over at Jin and asks is he the one you are going with? Gong Sil nods yes. Jin bows to Gong Ri so she recognizes Jin as the man who was there during Gong Sil’s accident. Gong Sil tells her sister – so don’t worry and I will come back well. they hug and Gong Sil tells her to be well and goes in with Jin

Kim asks did Tae Yang leave you? Joong Won: I thought if I could just handle it, Tae Gong Sil would be ok. but she said she is scared and having a hard time. I thought about it and not once did I ever understand or be considerate of her position. Kim asks then are you sending her off cuz you are being understanding and considerate of her situation? Joong Won suddenly looks up after hearing that and says are you crazy? what do you mean send Tae Gong Sil off? what I didn’t do for 34 years, why would I do that at this important moment? even though I can understand a heart that wants to be apart from me, showing those nice manners of sending her off – I wont do it. He gets up and walks over to her. he calls her over and over but she doesn’t pick up. he walks by and misses seeing her go inside. he begs please pick up the phone

Inside the plane Jin asks if she settled it with that guy. she says how could I do that. I just forced myself to get away. I wish the plane would hurry and take off. it might be better when I am far away

Yi Ryeong checks her phone and calls Kang Woo rude (having dog manners- crappy manners) for not calling when she told him she is leaving today

Kim comes over and tells him she is on a plane to LA so Joong Won orders for reservations for the next flight out to follow behind her. Kim says as soon as your passport arrives at the office, it will be brought to you

Sung Ran hears that Joong Won is leaving to America. Seuk Chul says Kim called and the secretary took his passport and went to the airport. She wonders what’s up -why go suddenly to America. Seuk Chul pretends not to know

Yi Ryeong’s manger says if you audition and get the role you don’t have to come back to Korea and can just practice acting there. Yi Ryeong gets up to go to the bathroom and runs into Gong Sil on the plane. Yi Ryeong: why are you here? are you going to America too? are you going on a business trip with president Joo? Gong S: no I am going for my own business. I heard you are leaving to film the movie. I read it in the news. Yi Ryeong says I am going for an audition. she looks over at Jin and asks is he with you? Gong Sil nods and says yes. she tells Gong Sil where her seat is and says come over if you are bored. Gong Sil whispers to Jin that Yi Ryeong is her classmate from school

Kim goes over to Joong Won and says I reserved a flight that leaves two hours later. Joong Won: I wont send her away. I will follow her and get her back. Kim points out even if you follow her to America there is a two hour gap. what if she disappears in that time. Kang Woo shows Joong Won the tracker to pinpoint her location and says take this with you. just in case – a while ago I slipped the tracker into her bag. she wont know so be sure to go and bring her back. Joong Won is thankful and tells him how great he is and to come back and work at kingdom and I will pay double your salary. turn this on for me. Just then Yi Ryeong calls Kang Woo to say -did you know Gong Sil is going to America? Kang Woo: how do you know that? Yi Ryeong: Gong Sil is on the same plane with me and said she is going to America with some guy. so Kang Woo tells Joong Won that info: Tae Gong Sil is on the same plane with Tae Yi Ryeong. they haven’t left yet.

Joong Won gets on the phone and asks her – listen well – starting from now I need you to do some great acting. Yi Ryeong tells her manager – do you think I act well? the acting I am about to do now don’t jump in no matter what.

Yi Ryeong gets up and yells out in pain. Kim and Joong Won watch in amusement at Yi Ryeong being taken away by the ambulance. Joong Won: I didn’t know a day would come when I would be moved by Tae Yi Ryeong’s acting. Kim says you caught her but what are you going to do now. Joong Won: starting from now – I have to be considerate and understanding. you help me by my side. I cant do those things well so if you think I am doing it wrong -guide me and stop me from going elsewhere - like you did for 15 yrs by my side. Kim agrees and then pretends to be sad that despite pushing him for 15 years and not budging, Joong Won opened his heart so easily for her in such a short time. Joong Won: it wasn’t easy. you know I am not an easy person. He gives him a bear hug. Kim: ok.

Gong Sil comments to Yi Ryeong who is sipping coffee. small tae yang - up to a few mins ago you were in so much pain you couldn’t breathe so you are too normal right now. Yi Ryeong says how she was just acting. Gong Sil: just so you could practice acting you wouldn’t let me on that plane? Yi Ryeong: I didn’t really want to go audition, but president Joo asked me for a favor – to make it so that you get off the plane. Gong Sil: the president? Yi Ryeong: I didn’t want to do it too, you doing well with someone great like president Joo I don’t want to see it – it makes my tummy hurt. Gong Sil: so why did you do it then? Yi Ryeong: cuz you have to be safe and be happy. so that he (she means Kang Woo) doesn’t have to protect you anymore -for him to safely leave his position, you big tae yang have to do well with that person (Joong Won) so that is why I helped. Gong Sil: then you were wrong to jump in. I left for him to be safe and happy. Yi Ryeong: you are saying that so you don’t look bad in front of me but that is not how it looked at all. you are saying now “cuz I love you I am leaving you now” pretending to be like candy. Gong Sil: candy? Yi Ryeong: yes “cuz I lack – thinking of you (being considerate of you) I am stepping away. if you love me catch me.” then you pretend you cant win and get caught. that’s what it is. if he caught you from getting on the plane then president Joo did as much as he could so stop running away so much and get caught now. if you drag it out it will be tiring. Gong Sil: for me to act like I cant win and get caught- there is a weakness. Yi Ryeong thinks it’s Kang Woo and Joong Won wanting to protect her and asks what is it? Gong Sil leans in and says: I see ghosts. there is one here too. the ghost must have died in this room. Yi Ryeong looks and says I don’t believe that stuff. Gong Sil: the ghost told me to tell you that it is your fan. I will be going. she walks out so Yi Ryeong yells where are you going. after saying stuff like that leaving me alone it’s scary. I really hate talk of ghosts.

Gong Sil goes outside and says aloud – even if I cling to him or get away from him - in others’ eyes I am still candy. She runs into that little boy who died. woo jin. she asks why he stayed behind and he points to a room

She goes in and sees his mom inside. he stands next to his mom looking sad. Gong Sil remembers how Joong Won stepped in and saved her and got hurt. she runs outside but the kid follows her. she says when I see you I remember something terrible so I don’t want to see you. she walks away from the kid

Joong Won walks by and Jin calls out to him. the sun who left – you caught her by force and made her rise next to you again. Joong Won: who are you. Jin says I am the one who is going to leave with Gong Sil. she would have told you. so Joong Won remembers her saying how she met someone who can see and hear the same things as her. Joong Won: can you see ghosts like Tae Gong Sil? Jin: someone who is from the same world as Gong Sil – unlike you.

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-61143885355212105022013-11-08T08:04:00.003-08:002013-11-08T08:04:24.787-08:00"The Heirs" Gains On "Secrets"
The highly anticipated high school drama "The Heirs," is gaining on the first-place ratings winner "Secrets."

The melodrama "Secrets" had a 15.8 percent rating this week, while "The Heirs" rose to 13.4 percent.

Like Us on Facebook :

And this week both dramas were all about the secrets.

"Secrets," which stars Ji Sung, Hwang Jung Eum, Bae Soo Bin and Lee Da Hee, saw Ji Sung openly declare his love for Hwang Jung Eum and reject his proposed marriage-business merger with Lee Da Hee.

To read the article, visit kdramastars.com.

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-89551031091933564482013-11-08T08:04:00.001-08:002013-11-08T08:04:13.451-08:00Review: LED Apple's 'With the Wind' is a Showcase of Lead Singer Hanbyul's Amazing Vocal Talents
As many fans of Korean pop-rock band LED Apple already know, they are one of the music industry's hidden treasures.

A talented group of musicians featuring all the standard performers - guitar, drums, bass, and keyboard with a seriously gifted lead singer Hanbyul thrown in for good measure - LED Apple is one of South Korea's best kept secrets.

The group released their latest single "With the Wind" on November 4 and the song takes on a different feel than their past releases.

Like Us on Facebook :

A sentimental ballad track, "With the Wind" is a grand showcase of Hanbyul's incredible range, impressive tone and vocal control.

The music video is fairly standard musical performance that highlights LED Apple's position as a band as opposed to the mainstay K-Pop idol groups' choreographed dance routines.

With a heavy use of fog machines and lights, LED Apple are able to give off a rockstar vibe even though the song itself is a gentle rock ballad.

[embedded content]

On the group's official YouTube page, many fans have expressed their feelings about the new track - mostly positive with the only real complaints being that "With the Wind" and the accompanying music video focus entirely too much on Hanbyul seemingly shoving the other four members in the background.

But that is precisely what makes "With the Wind" such an impressive song to begin with. Hanbyul is able to shine in the track whereas in previous LED Apple releases, his talents were hidden amongst the fanfare and overproduction of the music videos (this summer's "Bad Boys" is a great example of that).

[embedded content]

Since the beginning of the year the members of LED Apple, and most specifically Hanbyul, have been releasing a series of cover songs - one a week - to help raise money for the Save the Children charity foundation. The project is known as Music Note and money is made for the charity through the advertisements on the page.

The majority of the tracks have been rearrangements by Hanbyul and as much as the videos have served to help starving children across the planet, they have also helped bring the band's lead singer into the limelight as a voice that begs to be heard.

[embedded content]

It only seems fitting then, that LED Apple would choose to ride the Hanbyul wave with a delicate showcase of his incredible talent.

Take a listen to "With the Wind" above and let us know what you think of LED Apple's latest single in the comments section below.

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-42071507304000997202013-11-08T07:49:00.001-08:002013-11-08T07:49:23.361-08:00[News] SNSD snap a group photo with juniors EXO

[News] SNSD snap a group photo with juniors EXO
Girls Generation snapped a group photo with their juniors EXO at the backstage of their '2013 Girls' Generation World Tour - Seoul on June 8.

EXO members, wearing their red outfit, came to support their seniors, and cheered for them. The single is significant in that it is a remake of the 1994 song by Son Ji Chang and Kim Min Jong, which was the theme for the drama Feeling. With You is an uptempo single which highlights the vocal talents of B1A4.

[embedded content]

Like Us on Facebook :

Park Shin Hye, who has provided vocals for the soundtracks for You're Beautiful, Heartstrings, and Flower Boy Next Door sings the poignant Story which illustrates the conflict of her character Cha Eun Sung and her ill fated relationship with Lee Min Ho's Kim Tan. Story serves in stark contrast with singles from earlier editions of the Heirs soundtrack such as Esna's Bite My Lower Lip, which were filled with hope and optimism. Story can be found on Part 5 of the Heirs soundtrack.

As the plot of the hit melodrama Secret reaches a conclusion, the soundtrack which yielded the pessimistic song Incurable Disease, turns to lighter fare with Secret Love. As Minhook reaches a point of confession with the woman who was once his enemy, Yoojung, the soundtrack becomes more upbeat. Secret Love features the sweet vocals of Rainbow member Jisook and hip hop artist Outsider. Outsider proves that he is one of the most underrated artists in K-Hip Hop with a solid flow that contrasts to the innocence of Jisook's voice.

[embedded content]

Vocalist Melody Day, who was most recently featured on the soundtrack for the hit drama Master's Sun with the single All About lends her talent to the song Only Me for Part 3 of the Marry Him If You Dare soundtrack. Whereas All About showcased Melody Day's vocal talents with an infectious pop beat, Only Me is a strong ballad.

Korean drama soundtracks provide not only an opportunity to hear some of your favorite actors sing, as in the case with Park Shin Hye, but the chance to discover new artists. All of the soundtracks above can be purchased on Melon. If you watch K-dramas, what is your favorite soundtrack for a currently running drama?

kpopheavenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00628343681367873230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1960210421396700219.post-38338577831634659402013-11-07T11:49:00.001-08:002013-11-07T11:49:14.138-08:00[News] Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye First Stills from “The Heirs”

[News] Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye First Stills from “The Heirs”
The promotional wheel for the upcoming drama SBS “The Heirs” started recently with pictures of the first script reading and it continues to churn out the excitement with stills for lead actors Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye.

“The Heirs” is under the helm of “Tazza” and “Midas” director Kang Shin Hyo, and written by Kim Eun Sook who did “Lovers in Paris,” “Secret Garden” and “A Gentleman’s Dignity.” It is a rom-com that will center on the love and friendship of high school students from the top 0.1% of society.

Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye lead the drama, with Kim Woo Bin, Choi Jin Hyuk, f(x)’s Krystal, ZE:A’s Park Hyung Sik, Kang Ha Neul, CNBlue‘s Kang MinHyuk, Im Joo Eun, and Kim Ji Won rounding out the main cast.

Lee Min Ho plays the role of Kim Tan, the heir to the Empire conglomerate and was born with everything, including a tragic backstory.
